North Devon 1 v Taunton Vale 3s

The team blew our way into Taunton Vale, even with the adverse weather we knew we had to start confidently. 

North Devon moved the ball well through midfield finding width through Paige and Shauna, also allowing the forwards space Martika and Kirstie working the keeper hard. 

Kirstie scored from open play after just 11minutes. Taunton were working hard to move it through midfield, but were not finding too much space. 

Keeley out on the left shut down a lot of play and able to move it well done the line. 

North Devon had a run of short corners with no conversion which was frustrating, Taunton came away smiling. 

North Devon had to use some quality switch play with Nell and Dawn linking well to make Taunton work hard to get the ball. 

More attacking play at pace found Selina in the right place placing it well into Tauntons goal. This finished the first half 2-0.

The second saw North Devon start strong, pressing Taunton back. North Devon wanted to keep momentum, Helen Thomas utilised the space on the right using some fab line ball execution finding the forwards, with multiple circle entry’s, Selina was in the right place right time popping another in the goal taking her tally to 2, and the score to 3-0.

Taunton tried hard to go with long balls, but many were intercepted allowing Shauna to move it on quickly, the midfielders both Kalena and Rachel took advantage using the width. Paige found herself with space running a beautiful line around the back of Tauntons circle, able to get a shot away which ricochet of Tauntons keeper and going in, taking it to 4-0. North didn’t back down and with only a short amount of time left the team kept pressing, with the advantage to North lots of circle entry’s meant another goal came to Kirstie slotting it past Taunton‘s keeper taking her tally to 2, the scoreline finished 5-0 the final whistle blew not that you could hardly hear it as the strong winds and side ways rain continued.
